Orange Regional Medical Center has begun construction on an exciting new 153,000 square foot, five-story physician office building and a 26,000 square foot, single-story cancer center at the hospital’s main campus. When completed in the fall of 2016, the $99 million project will help relocate many outpatient services currently provided at other off-campus locations into new, state-of-the-art buildings on the existing 73-acre hospital campus in Middletown. Both new buildings will be patient-centered healing environments incorporating all the latest technology and amenities for patients and families.
The Post-Acute Care service Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for overseeing the in-patients assigned of The Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group. Post-Acute Care NPs are responsible for providing direct patient clinical care and managing medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, adult patients. The NP is a part of the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuum of care for patients from admission to discharge. This continuum of care includes general adult medicine, internal medicine consults as requested, and management of patients with various comorbidities. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The NP will carry out assigned duties displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conducts as well as acting in the best interest of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients. The position is responsible for the clinical excellence of In Patient care services and for assisting in the development of programs aimed at meeting quality measures and population health management requirements.
Master’s or doctorate degree in a nurse practitioner specialty area
2 (two) years of experience in a hospital setting preferred
Certified by the New York State Education Department ("SED") as a "Nurse Practitioner" or "NP"
SED nurse practitioner certifications in one of the following specialty areas: Acute Care, Adult Health; Family Health; Gerontology is preferred
Active and Unrestricted D.E.A. Certificate
ACLS and BLS certifications
Stands, walks, sits intermittently throughout the day. Lifts, pushes, pulls light to heavy weights as required.
In-patient Hospital Service of Orange Regional Medical Center. Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required.
