Provides clinical oversight of all Behavioral Health Services at ORMC/CRMC. Provides leadership in the Department of Psychiatry and assures adequate psychiatrist staffing. Directly supervises psychiatrists and nurse practitioners and develops and ensures compliance with policies and procedures related to clinical care and treatment of patients is all divisions of the Behavioral Health Service. In collaboration with the BHS Leadership Team, is responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of BHS programs, monitoring operational performance, and developing corrective action, business and strategic plans.
Provides direct patient care in the inpatient and outpatient service and psychiatric consultation services to ED’s and medical units at ORMC.
At BHC: as needed, provides psychiatric assessment and treatment to children, adolescents and adults. Provides psychiatric consultation to local schools. Maintains liaison with community providers and OCDMH by attending meetings as appropriate. Helps prepare for certification and accreditation inspections.
3 years experience as a Medical Director, or comparable supervisory experience as Unit/Section Chief.

Board Certification in Psychiatry
Works in behavioral health, medical/surgical and ambulatory areas. Primarily day shift hours but on-call evenings, nights and weekends may be required, as needed.. May need to verbally or physically assist agitated patients in safely managing behaviors. May be exposed to stressful and unpredictable situations. Noise level is usually moderate. May participate in tasks that include an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood and body substances or potential for a splash or spill of these substances.
