    Responsible for providing diagnosis and treatment of disease of the blood, bone marrow and cancer.    The Hematologist Oncologist leads an interdisciplinary team of support staff to perform assigned duties while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of the System, Hospital and Medical Group, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients.  Hematologist Oncologists work both in-patient hospital care and well as out-patient clinic care.  Board Certified / Board Eligible HEM-ONC providers are expected to have competencies in caring for patients who present with conditions such as, but not limited to, leukemia, Hodgkins & non-Hodgkins Lypmphoma, hemophila, anemia, sickle cell disease and prescribes various types of treatment such as chemotherapy, medications and hormones.


    Minimum Education:

    M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.

    Minimum Experience:

    May require at least 2-4 years of Hematology Oncology experience

    Required Certification/Registration:

    NY State  Medical License

    Unrestricted and Active D.E.A. Certificate

    Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine & Hematology Oncology

    ACLS and BLS certification preferred.
