    Endocrinologists admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with injuries or disorders of the internal (endocrine) glands such as the thyroid and adrenal glands.  Treatment includes management of disorders such as diabetes, metabolic and nutritional disorders, obesity, pituitary diseases and menstrual and sexual problems.  Endocrinologists may provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies, as well as in other in-patient units performing consults and providing care in out-patient clinics.  Endocrinologists assess, stabilize and determine disposition of patients with emergent and non-emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services


    Minimum Education:

    M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.


    Minimum Experience:

    3-5 years of experience in Endocrinology care  settings.

    Required Certification/Registration:

    NY State  Medical License

    Board Certification Internal Medicine,

    Board Certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism

    BLS & ACLS certification preferred.
